The 2009 Rudolph C. Barnes Sr. Symposium will be held all day March 26 & 27, 2009 in the auditorium at the University of South Carolina School of Law, 701 South Main Street in Columbia. It is free and open to the public, and will be available via live webcast.  However, we request that lawyers who wish to register for continuing legal education credit attend in Columbia, preregister to make sure we have the necessary CLE materials and, unless they are speakers, members of the judiciary, government lawyers, full-time legal educators, members of the South Carolina Bar Military Law Section, or full time ordained clergy, pay a $75 administration fee.  You are heartily invited to attend in person or to watch the webcast whether or not you wish to register for CLE credit, and the $75 is only to defray CLE costs if you wish to register for those CLE hours.  The Supreme Court of South Carolina Commission on Continuing Legal Education and Specialization has approved the Barnes Symposium for 7.75 hours of continuing legal education credit, of which 1.25 hours will qualify as legal ethics credit, subject to individual attendance and final approval of the SC CLE Commission and its equivalent in other states.
